If you do come for a visit, your anticipation will surge because what unfolds in front of you is a setting that will make you swoon. You will instantly be immersed in prized hill country terrain. You have seen places like this before, but only when you were on a day trip in quaint towns like Blanco, Wimberley or Johnson City. The small, one story main house has two bedrooms, two baths and about 1,501 square feet. It has a metal roof, saltillo tile floors and an oversized, lodge-style stone fireplace that anchors the main living area. The home was built in 1977, and the design is still appealing today. The main house is perfectly positioned--it rests on a high point on the land overlooking the balance of the 4.72 acres. The entire back wall of the house is almost all glass--a grid of windows and French doors providing a constant visual reminder that you live on scenic land. Like Owning a B & B Hill Country Immersion
Therapy What appears next is one amazing visual stroll. Walking further through the trees, you see all of the telltale signs of ancient terrain--native grasses mixed in with wildflowers, cacti, boulders and hundreds of trees. You can pick out pleasing sounds--songbirds and wind rustling its way through the overhead canopies. THEN, you begin to hear a stream. Just follow that sound, and you come to the edge of the biggest, most picturesque limestone-clad, boulder-lined natural pond (top of page one) you have ever laid eyes on. This little lake creates the most soothing sound of all--a cascading waterfall. When you get over the spectacle of how deep, and how clear the water is, you will glance around to see where the water from the falls is going. Do not be embarrassed at what happens next--it is irresistible. You will look as if you are in a trance. Your arms will drop down, and you will begin to hypnotically follow that stream. As it twists over the rugged terrain you eventually come to the next gawking moment on your nature walk. The stream takes a sharp turn into a massive grotto--an entire hillside of exposed bedrock (typical estimates place this rock at 60-100 million years old). Way down the line, the water emerges from this tube and empties out into another pool which flows down a final waterfall. Just thinking about it eases your breathing. Stop for a moment, and think about where you live now. What do you see out of your windows? A tiny back yard with a couple of starter trees? Do you see other houses or have neighbors so close there is no privacy? Connect With Nature. Melt Away
Stress On Sunday, cruise over to a nursery and get a trunkload of colorful plants and flowers. This is where the last surprise comes into play. Down by the smaller pool there is an open meadow. Still visible are the remnants of a very old garden with fence and gate. Resurrect that, and you could spend an afternoon in the little garden meadow planting herbs and flowers while being serenaded by the sound of a hill country stream in the background. Let's summarize. For only $349,900, you get a two bedroom house, a detached cottage with a garage, office and guest room. The cottage absolutely sparkles. Built in 1977, the main house needs updating, but it is livable in its present condition. You can always remodel, but what you positively cannot duplicate is this remarkable piece of land that has taken millions of years to form. It is no understatement to say this is a "one-of-a-kind" property. Would you like to be the next steward of this land? Shown by appointment (minimum
